A new development is the Human Intrusion Detection system, designed to help prevent airside access by unauthorised persons. With its moving belts bridging landside and airside areas, the baggage handling system offers some unconventional but nonetheless feasible ways for persons to reach airside without passing through security checks.
As well as that there are other risks such as the possibility of children being transported unintentionally on the system, with potentially disastrous results. The new system will offer almost certain detection, while also reducing time-consuming false alarms to an absolute minimum.
